A few links this Wednesday morning. Seems that when you launch an eBook the amount of emails you get per day triples! I am slowly getting through the emails, and should have the last responses replied to by the end of the day. Now, onto the links!
This is a really great article by Robert Dempsey, an entrepreneur who really knows how to properly manage time. He explains how his work process is, no matter where he is. He always has his iPhone and pen and paper ready, and when inspiration hits him, he is always ready. This is kind of how I work. If you do not see me with my Moleskine, my iPad is an arms length away. I work whenever I can, when a great blog post hits me, or some keyword ideas for a client, I always work out the thoughts in these two devices wherever I am. Thanks Richard!
No matter what website I am working on during the initial phase of SEO Consulting, I get at least one of the mistakes listed in the post on that website. Before you start seriously working on Internet Marketing, look at the site. Find this glaring mistakes and fix them first.
Off to my inbox now, then will post one of my accepted guest posts sometime today. If you have not yet, please download the Niche Blueprint eBook I launched today. It is an easy read, and a really good primer for getting more income from the Internet. Take a look!

Whoops. See what happens when you update a site late in the morning? You put the wrong date in the publish portion of the site. Apologies, but this is a great way to tell everyone to think like a carpenter when working on your website: Measure Twice, Cut Once. Make sure you double and triple check the site publish times to make sure this is done correctly. On to the links!
Everyone, including myself, was extremely hyped to see Google Wave come out. The social networking sites were going nuts with people looking to get beta invites. Unfortunately, with the powerhouses of Twitter and Facebook, it never really hit its mark. They are discontinuing the project, and it is a shame. It had a lot of potential. We will miss you, Google Wave!

Nowadays, Twitter is an essential part of anyones business strategy, or it darn well should be. Twitter has gained more popularity in the recent 12 months because of its ease of use and infinite marketing capabilities. “Do you go to an orthopedist to get your eyes checked? Do you go to your oil guy for major engine work? Do you get your house painted by a fine artist? A beautiful mural created by a simple house painter? Of course not.
Though they work in similar areas or mediums, they need special knowledge or skills to perform the job well. So why do you go to marketing firms or graphic artists to create your websites, to create your web design?”

Yahoo recently announced that their organic search results will soon be powered by Bing in the early fall. Both companies have already begun testing this new merger on some of their result pages. According to the latest comScore data, Yahoo and Bing have a combined search market share of 31.6% in June 2010.
Combined, both companies websites have received 5.4 billion search queries last month.
Read that again, 5.4 billion search queries.
Now, most everyone knows that Google is the powerhouse when it comes to traffic. With the vast amount of products and services they offer their user base, and the fact that most of it is free and really great to use, it is not too difficult to understand why. For that reason it is understood why most Internet Marketers spend ALL THEIR TIME working on their rankings in Google, and don’t even bother with checking their results on the other two. In a time crunch, I do that myself.
Stop it right now.
Is Yahoo and Bing Worth Optimizing For?
5.4 billion search queries is NOTHING to turn your nose up at. That information combined with the fact that some individuals still use Yahoo for their search results is lost traffic potential for you. Once more, if you spend your time and energy and depend on the current rankings of Yahoo and not Bing, come September, you are in for a rude awakening.
So, my suggestion is this. Make sure you go right now and look at your main keyword rankings in Bing. Take two or three specific pages on your website and start making small incremental changes and see how the results play out on Bing. Take good notes, make sure you follow the rules on only optimizing one keyword per page, optimize images, etc. and pay attention to those changes. Read up on the Webmaster Resources eBook that Microsoft released on Bing specifically. The download can be found here. Remember, these other Search Engines are not useless. Targeted traffic is sales potential.
